Alex J.  Zadrozny
Alex J. Zadrozny, 88, of Ormond Beach and Naples, FL and formerly of Enfield, passed away on Tuesday Feb. 28, 2017 in FL. Alex was predeceased by his two wives Ann Marie (Geroon) Zadrozny (1977) and Jean (Westbrooks) Zadrozny (2012). He was born on Sept. 30, 1928 in Scranton, PA to the late Bernard and Stella (Chetnick) Zadrozny. He had resided in Ormond Beach for the past three years, in Naples for 35 years and in Enfield before that. Alex served his country honorably with the US Navy during the Korean War on the Franklin D. Roosevelt and continued to serve for 20 years. He also was employed with the State of CT Dept. of Corrections for 20 years and with the Naples, FL Sheriff’s Dept. for 13 years. He was a member and Past Commander of the Tanguay Magill Post 80 Enfield American Legion. Alex loved the beach, NASCAR, Stafford Motor Speedway and his cat “Snowball” and the baby boy.
He loved being on the road buying and selling motorcycles with Fran and going to his weekly bowling league.
Alex is survived by his son Alex J. Zadrozny, Jr. of Rockville, CT, Stepson Francis Siana or Ormond Beach, FL, Stepdaughter Darlene Hughes (Robert) of Seymour, TN, granddaughter Britni Lindinger (Laszlo), caregiver Christine Carlson and her family, his brother Henry Zadrozny, sister Phyllis Mullock and his grandsons Russell (Kelly), Roger (Dawn) and Ryan Westbrooks, and Sean Siana, great granddaughters; Amanda, Jenna, Emma, great grandsons, Forrest Hunter Lindinger, Nicholas, Michael, and Andrew.He was predeceased by a daughter Sharon Zadrozny, brothers John and Eugene Zadrozny and sisters Helen Palka and Audrey Zadrozny. Alex was also predeceased by his step sons, Roger D. Westbrooks, Sr. and Andrew R. Siana.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Friday March 10, 2017 from 9:30 to 11:30 am followed by the funeral service with Fr. John Melnick officiating at Browne Memorial Chapels. Burial with military honors will then take place in the Connecticut Veterans’ Cemetery in Middletown, CT.
